No. 3 Minnesota rallies past No. 15 Oregon State

The third-ranked Minnesota wrestling team rallied past No. 15 Oregon State, 21-18, Saturday night at the Sports Pavilion. The match came down to the heavyweight battle, and it was Minnesota’s Tony Nelson notching a double-overtime victory over Oregon State’s Chad Hanke. Watch our interview with Nelson now. Gophers cruise, Wildcats fall on Friday

Behind a 29-point performance from Rachel Banham, the University of Minnesota (8-3) women’s basketball team cruised to an 87-49 victory over visiting UMKC (4-6) Friday night at Williams Arena. The sophomore made a career-high 11 field goals, including five from three-point range, while adding seven rebounds, five assists and a block in the win. Minnesota Tops Denver, 74-51

The University of Minnesota (7-3) women’s basketball team snapped Denver’s three-game win streak Wednesday night with a 74-51 win over the visiting Pioneers (3-4) at Williams Arena. Sophomore Rachel Banham posted 21 points, seven rebounds, a career-high seven assists and four steals to lead the Golden Gophers, while junior Micaëlla Riché added 19 points, six rebounds, a block and a steal in the winning effort.
