Michigan State already has been No. 1, while No. 3 Ohio State and No. 4 Wisconsin could also get their time atop the polls. Both the Buckeyes and Badgers are undefeated, and if

Most of the conference fed on cupcakes this weekend, but there were a few games of note. The best game of the weekend was Michigan’s trip to Iowa State. Sadly, it did not go as the Wolverines would have liked, although Iowa State was actually favored in this game (which calls the subsequent court-storming into question, for those who dream of joining the Fun Police). A full-strength Michigan played classic Beilein Ball, shooting a lot of threes while minimizing turnovers and shooting a high percentage on twos. And it mostly worked. The Wolverines turned it over on fewer than 16
Ohio State played Tuesday night, and that means Sam Thompson put on another individual highlight reel. And, once again, this one featured yet another alley-oop on an inbound pass under Ohio State’s basket. He did it Nov. 3 vs. Walsh, and he did it a handful of times last season. One of these days, opponents will understand they have to keep the atheltic junior from running toward the hoop on inbound plays. Attention, Ohio State opponents: Make sure to account for Sam Thompson on each and every inbound pass under the Ohio State basket. We’ve said it so many times during Thompson’s career, but the high-flying junior soared for another one of his trademark inbound alley-oops in Sunday’s exhibition game vs. Walsh. The votes are in, and BTN.com fans have picked Sam Thompson’s inbound alley-oop vs. Michigan State as the 2012-13 Dunk of the Year. The bracket opened with one dunk from every Big Ten team, which fans decided via polls, and it was seeded in accordance with the Big Ten tourney. Thompson’s athletic jam topped D.J. Newbill’s drive and flush at Wisconsin in a contested finals matchup. Editor’s Note: Results are determined by fan voting, not the actual Big Ten tournament.
