 (AP) Le’Veon Bell‘s 35-yard touchdown run with 10:58 remaining helped No. 15 Michigan State hold off upset-minded Minnesota 31-24 on Saturday. Bell ran for 96 yards and two touchdowns, and Kirk Cousins threw for 296 yards and a pair of TDs. The Spartans (7-1, 4-1 Big Ten) trailed 24-21 after three quarters before rallying. MarQueis Gray tossed three touchdown passes to Da’Jon McKnight and threw for a career-high 295 yards for the Golden Gophers (2-7, 1-4), who upset Iowa last weekend. Ohio State Stuns Wisconsin, 33-29

(AP) Braxton Miller threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Devin Smith with 20 seconds left to give Ohio State a 33-29 victory over No. 12 Wisconsin on Saturday night. It was almost exactly seven days earlier that the Badgers were beaten 37-31 at Michigan State on a miracle pass on the final play of the game. The latest heartbreak, just like that one, wasn’t confirmed until it passed a video review. The Badgers (7-2, 3-2) drove to the Ohio State 45 – and got an extra play after time elapsed due to a defensive facemask call – but linebacker Andrew Sweat hit quarterback Russell Wilson as he was throwing to end the game and touch off a wild celebration. JoePa Sets Record in Win over Illinois

(AP) Joe Paterno broke Eddie Robinson’s record for victories by a Division I coach with No. 409 in Penn State’s sloppy 10-7 win against Illinois on Saturday. The 21st-ranked Nittany Lions (8-1, 5-0 Big Ten) overcame six fumbles with Silas Redd‘s 3-yard touchdown run with 1:08 to go. Illinois (6-3, 2-3) drove the Penn State 25, but Derek Dimke‘s 42-yard field goal attempt bounced off the right upright as time expired. Redd had a career-high 30 carries for 137 yards for Penn State, none bigger than his late run set up after Illinois corner Justin Green was whistled for pass interference after breaking up a fourth-down pass for Derek Moye in the end zone. Gophers Upset Hawkeyes, 22-21

(AP) MarQueis Gray‘s fourth-down sprint for the pylon from the 2-yard line in the closing minutes lifted Minnesota to a 22-21 victory over Iowa on Saturday, giving the Gophers possession of the Floyd of Rosedale bronze pig trophy for the second straight year. Gray went 11 for 17 for 193 yards and a touchdown and ran 11 times for 62 yards and the go-ahead score for the Gophers (2-6, 1-3), who lost their first three Big Ten games by an average margin of 38 points. Marcus Coker carried the ball 32 times for 252 yards and two touchdowns, but the Hawkeyes (5-3, 2-2) missed a chance to move into a four-way tie for first place in the Legends Division. Nebraska Shuts Down Michigan State

(AP) Rex Burkhead scored three touchdowns and ran for 130 yards on 35 carries, and No. 13 Nebraska defeated ninth-ranked Michigan State 24-3 Saturday to take control of the Big Ten Legends Division. Burkhead, who went over 100 yards for the fifth time in six games, scored at the end of 80- and 89-yard drives in the third quarter to put Nebraska up 24-3. Taylor Martinez completed 6 of 7 passes for 80 yards in the third quarter after going 1 for 6 in the first half. Michigan State (6-2, 3-1), coming off the incredible finish to its win over Wisconsin last week, managed just 187 yards against Nebraska’s improving defense. Northwestern Torches Indiana, 59-38

(AP) Dan Persa and Kain Colter combined to throw five touchdown passes Saturday, and Drake Dunsmore hauled in a school-record four TDs to lead Northwestern past Indiana 59-38. It was a record-setting day for the Wildcats (3-5, 1-4 Big Ten), who scored nine times before finally punting in the fourth quarter. Dunsmore also became Northwestern’s all-time leader in yards receiving by a tight end, and the five TD passes tied the school’s single-game team record. Northwestern finished with 616 total yards, just short of another school record (647). Indiana (1-8, 0-5) lost its sixth straight and has now given up 40 or more points in four straight games for the first time since 2005. Michigan Runs All Over Purdue

(AP) Fitzgerald Toussaint ran for a career-high 170 yards and tied a career high with two touchdowns, leading No. 17 Michigan to a 36-14 win over Purdue on Saturday. The Wolverines (7-1, 3-1 Big Ten) gave up a TD on the opening drive of the game, then scored 36 straight points to bounce back from their first loss of the season, two weeks ago at Michigan State. The Boilermakers (4-4, 2-2) haven’t won or lost consecutive games this year. Toussaint had 155 yards rushing through three quarters, helping Michigan find a rusher to take some of the load from quarterback Denard Robinson. Michigan State Stuns Wisconsin, 37-31

(AP) Keith Nichol caught a 44-yard Hail Mary on the game’s final play for a tiebreaking touchdown, giving No. 15 Michigan State a stunning 37-31 win over No. 4 Wisconsin on Saturday night. With the game tied and 4 seconds left, Kirk Cousins rolled out to his right and threw one last pass. The ball went into the end zone but caromed off a Michigan State receiver back to Nichol, who caught it just outside the end zone and struggled for the goal line, fighting two Wisconsin defenders. The former backup quarterback was initially ruled short of the end zone, but officials overturned the call after a review, giving the Spartans (6-1, 3-0 Big Ten) the win and knocking the Badgers (6-1, 2-1) from the ranks of the unbeaten. Nebraska Runs Past Minnesota, 41-14

(AP) Rex Burkhead rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown and No. 13 Nebraska racked up 346 yards on the ground in a 41-14 victory on Saturday. The Huskers (6-1, 2-1 Big Ten) took over TCF Bank Stadium in their first trip to the Twin Cities since 1989. Taylor Martinez threw for 162 yards and a touchdown and Austin Cassidy returned a fumble for another score in the romp. MarQueis Gray was 9 for 18 for 122 yards for the Golden Gophers (1-6, 0-3), but was just 2 for 8 for 9 yards in the first two quarters. McNutt, Iowa Dismantle Indiana

(AP) Marvin McNutt caught three touchdown passes to become Iowa’s career leader and Marcus Coker ran for two more scores to lead the Hawkeyes past Indiana 45-24 on Saturday. Iowa (5-2, 2-1 Big Ten) followed up on its 41-31 victory over Northwestern a week ago with another big offensive outing, triggered by McNutt’s scoring catches of 80, 24 and 29 yards from James Vandenberg, who had a career-best four TD passes in all. That gave the senior a school-record 24 touchdown receptions for his career. Indiana (1-7, 0-4) lost for the fifth straight time and now has been outscored 161-61 in Big Ten play. Purdue Upsets No. 23 Illinois

(AP) Caleb TerBush passed for 178 yards and two touchdowns to help Purdue upset No. 23 Illinois 21-14 on Saturday afternoon. Raheem Mostert ran for a touchdown and tackled the punter on a play that led to another score for the Boilermakers (4-3, 2-1 Big Ten). It was Purdue’s first victory over a ranked team since beating No. 7 Ohio State in 2009. Illinois (6-2, 2-2) lost its second straight. The Fighting Illini scored on a 16-yard run by Jason Ford with 8:12 remaining, and a 2-yard run by quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase to cut Purdue’s lead to 21-14 with 54 seconds to play. Iowa Solves Northwestern, 41-31

(AP) James Vandenberg threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns as Iowa beat Northwestern 41-31 on Saturday night, snapping a three-game losing streak to the Wildcats. Marcus Coker added 124 yards rushing and two TDs for the Hawkeyes (4-2, 1-1 Big Ten), who won despite allowing 495 yards and 29 first downs to Northwestern. Iowa blew a 17-0 second-quarter lead, then pulled ahead 24-17 on Coker’s 1-yard TD run with 13:55 left. Vandenberg pushed the lead to 31-17 on a 35-yard TD pass to Marvin McNutt, and Coker’s 1-yard touchdown run with 3:56 to go sealed just Iowa’s second win over Northwestern in seven tries. Ohio State Hands Illinois First Loss

(AP) Boom Herron, who hadn’t played since the Sugar Bowl in January because of NCAA suspensions, ran for 114 yards and a touchdown in his return Saturday to lead Ohio State past No. 16 Illinois, 17-7. With true freshman Braxton Miller at quarterback, the struggling offense of Ohio State (4-3, 2-1 Big Ten) counted on Herron against Illinois (6-1, 2-1). The Buckeyes didn’t complete a pass until Miller hit Jake Stoneburner for a fourth-quarter touchdown and a 17-0 lead. The Buckeyes’ defense forced three turnovers and turned two of them into their only touchdowns. Herron’s 12-yard touchdown run followed an interception by Bradley Roby and put Ohio State up 10-0 in the third quarter. Ball, Badgers Bounce Hoosiers, 59-7

(AP) Quarterback Russell Wilson added a new chapter to his brief-but-growing legend, making a touchdown catch on a trick play as No. 4 Wisconsin routed Indiana 59-7 on Saturday. Wilson, who is being touted as a Heisman Trophy candidate by Wisconsin (6-0, 2-0 Big Ten), added another memorable moment to his resume when he caught a 25-yard score from running back Montee Ball in the second quarter. Ball had a huge day, rushing for three touchdowns. Wilson threw for 166 yards and a touchdown with 42 yards rushing. He was rested in the fourth quarter. Penn State Holds Off Purdue, 23-18

(AP) Silas Redd ran for 131 yards and a touchdown and Penn State took advantage of Purdue’s special teams miscues to hold on Saturday for a 23-18 win. Akeem Shavers had a 1-yard touchdown run with 8:08 left but Purdue was stopped on a 2-point conversion attempt to keep the deficit at 20-18. A missed field goal and extra-point attempt earlier in the game also haunted Purdue (3-3, 1-1 Big Ten) on a windy afternoon.
