ESPN lists Ohio State as nation's most stable program

When talking about the Big Ten’s most consistent football programs, Ohio State is one school that certainly comes to mind. The Buckeyes have won 10-or-more games in nine of their past 12 seasons (went 12-1 in 2010 season, but wins were vacated), including six Big Ten Championships.

What’s the biggest rivalry in college football? NCAA.com recently addressed the topic with a top 5 list. Its No. 1: Army vs. Navy. It’s good to be Tom Izzo and the Michigan State basketball team. One day after the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook ranked the Spartans No. 1 in its preseason poll, Athlon Sports named Izzo the nation’s top college hoops coach. Neither result is much of a stunner, especially when one considers what the Spartans return and what Tom Izzo has done in his career.

We are halfway through the non-conference season. Can you believe it? And, so far, so good for the Big Ten, which has gone 21-3. The losses: Purdue at Cincinnati, 42-7; Iowa to Northern Illinois, 30-27; Indiana to Navy, 41-35. None of those are shameful. And there have been some impressive wins.
