The last week of the regular season is at our feet. The Big Ten title already has been decided—well, at least a share of it. Indiana can claim the entire crown with a win tonight at home vs. Ohio State or with a victory at Michigan on Sunday. And like the other schools, the Hoosiers are still scrambling to enhance their NCAA standing. But first things first: The Big Ten Tourney starts next Thursday and the big drama will be to see which schools among Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Ohio State can earn a first-round bye with a top-four […]

The penultimate week of the regular season isn’t loaded with top matchups, but there are several intriguing clashes beginning with tonight’s Indiana at Minnesota game. And I can’t wait for Michigan State’s visit to Michigan on Sunday. Here is how I rank this week’s 10 games. Michigan State at Michigan, Sunday. This is the unquestioned game of the week. The Spartans have lost two in a row for the first time this season, falling to Indiana and at Ohio State. The Wolverines are the lone Big Ten team that is unbeaten at home (16-0) and have won two in a […]

This is a relatively light week in the Big Ten with just eight games. But there is plenty of heft on top with tonight’s No. 1 Indiana vs. No. 5 Michigan State game, which will be the first battle of top-five teams in East Lansing. In fact, it’s a big week for the Spartans, who visit No. 18 Ohio State after playing host to the Hoosiers. Here is how I rank this week’s games. 1. Indiana at Michigan State, Tuesday. For the second week in a row, East Lansing is the place to be in the Big Ten. Three teams have a chance to make a statement this week: Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin. The Hoosiers will have their mettle tested by games at Illinois and at Ohio State. Here is how I rank the Big Ten games this week. 1. Ohio State at Michigan, Tuesday. The Buckeyes beat the Wolverines, 56-53, earlier this season in Columbus.
This week is all about No. 1 Michigan’s trip to No. 3 Indiana on Saturday night. The winner will be in the driver’s seat in the Big Ten race—and solidify its case as a national championship contender. But before that, the Hoosiers have a testy game at Purdue on Wednesday (8:30 p.m. on BTN/BTN2Go). Beware, Indiana! And Wisconsin also plays two big games that will determine if the Badgers can get back into the Big Ten chase with visits to Ohio State (tonight) and Illinois (Sunday). Speaking of the Fighting Illini, they also have a monster week with that visit […]

Will the Hoosiers lose another game in Assembly Hall? This is a big week for Wisconsin, which has home dates vs. Michigan State and Minnesota, and the Spartans, who as mentioned play at Indiana in addition to the trip to Madison. And how do I rank the games this week? For starters, it’s a statement week for Wisconsin, which is unbeaten in league action and has games at Indiana and at Iowa. In an odd twist, there is a non-conference game slipped in, with Bob Huggins and West Virginia coming to Purdue. This also is the week Penn State has its best shot at winning a Big Ten game, with Nebraska […]
