Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

Big Ten Power Rankings - Dec. 2, 2013

My final Big Ten Power Rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal, remain relatively unchanged after the final week of regular-season action. There are some potential debates. Like, should Minnesota be ahead of Nebraska? Still, there is no arguing about who the top two teams are.

Things held steady at the top of my Power Rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal, though I’m sure debate will continue to rage on if Michigan State should be ranked ahead of Wisconsin. Debate on, America. This week’s fast-riser: Iowa. See my latest list in this post.

Big Ten Power Rankings - Nov. 18, 2013

Ohio State remains on top with another impressive victory, but I finally am moving Michigan State past Wisconsin and into the No. 2 spot in my power rankings. Yes, that win at Nebraska was that vital. Sorry, Wisconsin. Without a doubt, there seems to be a big drop between the top three teams and everyone else.

Big Ten Power Rankings - Nov. 11, 2013

With two of my top three teams off this Saturday in No. 1 Ohio State and No. 3 Michigan State, the top of my power rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal, didn’t change much. In fact, the rankings only got tweaked, as no big upsets took place. But with MSU playing at Nebraska next week, big changes could be coming.

Big Ten Power Rankings - Nov. 4, 2013

A thrilling Saturday of action went a long way in shaking up my weekly Power Rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal. But, in the end, the trio at the top–Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan State–reframed its top-billing status with impressive wins. After that trio, it’s surprising Minnesota checking in at No. 4. See my latest list in this post.

If you somehow had any doubts prior to Saturday about who was the best team in the Big Ten, Ohio State surely cleared those up with its dominating effort vs. Penn State. Iowa and Minnesota were big risers. But Saturday wasn’t so good for Nebraska and Penn State. Here are my post-Week Nine Power Rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal.

Big Ten Power Rankings - Oct. 21, 2013

With Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan State and Michigan winning—and Nebraska being off—there were no changes to the top of my Big Ten power rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal. But there was plenty of shifting in the bottom half, highlighted (lowlighted?) by Northwestern’s continued descent. It wasn’t long ago that I had the Wildcats No. 2 in the Big Ten. Now? Well, have a look for yourself.

Another week, more changes to my power rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal. Wisconsin, Nebraska and Michigan State were the big winners, as the Badgers went from No. 4 to No. 2, the Cornhuskers from No. 5 to No. 3 and the Spartans from No. 6 to No. 4. Penn State is also up. Week Seven wasn’t so kind to Northwestern, which dropped from No. 2 to No. 6.

Six weeks are in the books, and Ohio State still sits atop my Big Ten Power Rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal. With six schools off and just four games that featured no upsets, there was little movement in my weekly Big Ten power rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal. Iowa was the biggest winner, jumping three spots from No. 9 to No. 6. Conversely, Minnesota fell like a rock from No. 6 to No. 10. Here is my latest Power Poll.

It’s time to get powered up with my Sunday Big Ten rankings. This Saturday didn’t provide any dramatic victories or stunning losses, so my ranking didn’t shift dramatically. But, Wisconsin did make a move, as did Minnesota, Penn State and Iowa, while Michigan State sinks the most.

Three weeks are in the books. And this much I know: I don’t know what to make about a lot of teams. My Big Ten power rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal, didn’t suffer a massive shakeup following a strange Saturday. Michigan State and Minnesota are most upwardly mobile; Penn State and Illinois took significant hits. Check it out.

Buckeyes Celebrate Tressel's Return

Andrew Weber-US PRESSWIRE

This is the final edition of the 2012 Big Ten power rankings. And it’s pretty clear who the two best teams in the Big Ten are: Ohio State and Nebraska. Alas, they can’t meet in the conference title game, as the Buckeyes are on probation. But Ohio State finished 12-0, including a 63-38 win over the Cornhuskers in Columbus earlier this season. So, the Buckeyes must be best, right?
