Ohio State drops pesky UAB, moves to 4-0

Braxton Miller ran for two touchdowns and No. 16 Ohio State overcame a lethargic, mistake-filled effort to hold off UAB 29-15 on Saturday in the Buckeyes’ final tune-up before Big Ten play. UAB (0-3) more than held its own against the Buckeyes (4-0), who committed drive-killing penalties, had a punt blocked for a touchdown and had trouble scoring against a defense giving up 44 points and 477 yards a game. The Blazers picked up points on special teams and started the second half by recovering an onside kick, but were undone by four chop-block penalties and a giveaway that led

3rd Quarter Recap: Ohio State 21, UAB 12

The third quarter was so slow, the teams combined for more punts than points, and the margin is still nine, as Ohio State leads 21-12. Both teams saw their defenses make stands, forcing four punts in the quarter. UAB will start the fourth quarter with possession on the Buckeyes’ 40-yard line. Revsine's Numbers: Three unbeaten teams remain

Last week, I opened the column by dwelling on the negative. Not happening this week. We’re starting with the positive – the Big Ten’s three unbeaten teams. Ohio State is the first, and perhaps least surprising, of those unbeatens – and Urban Meyer’s team has gotten there with, no surprise, a high-powered offense. 30: The Buckeyes have scored at least 30 points in each of their first three games. If they can do it for a fourth straight time Saturday against UAB, it would be just the second time OSU has pulled that off in the first four contests of

Read all of my Big Ten coverage here and don’t forget to send any of your questions my way for my weekly Big Ten Mailbag. Illinois Will Nathan Scheelhaase be back? It sounds like he may be over an ankle injury suffered in the opener. Scheelhaase has missed the last two games, which the Fighting Illini have split. But Illinois
