This will be a Saturday that helps define the Big Ten’s national image, with four big-time games vs. the Pac-12. And Purdue will be on a national stage with its clash vs. Notre Dame. Get prepped for all the action in Four Downs. 4 PREDICTIONS 1. The Big Ten will go 2-2 this week vs. the Pac-12. Ohio State will win at Cal and Nebraska will dump UCLA. But Wisconsin will fall at Arizona State (Hello, Badger secondary) and Illinois (Hello, Illini defense) will lose in Solider Field to Washington. 2. Nebraska won’t give up 653 yards to UCLA. Nope.

I’ve already provided my snap reactions for today’s Big Ten early games and afternoon tilts. Now, it’s time to look at the three night games. The Big Ten went 1-2 under the lights, highlighted by Northwestern’s 23-13 win over Vanderbilt. Here’s a look at Saturday’s winners: Northwestern 23, Vanderbilt 13, Indiana 45, Massachusetts 6, Michigan State 41, C. UCLA takes down No. 14 Nebraska, 36-30

Brett Hundley passed for 305 yards and four touchdowns in an outstanding Rose Bowl debut, Datone Jones sacked Taylor Martinez for a tiebreaking safety with 8:44 to play, and UCLA surprised No. 17 Nebraska 36-30 Saturday night. Johnathan Franklin rushed for 217 yards and caught an 8-yard TD pass with 2:13 to play for the Bruins, who improved to 2-0 under new coach Jim Mora with an impressive offensive performance against the Cornhuskers (1-1). UCLA’s Johnathan Franklin ran for 40 yards in the quarter, and the two teams are tied 27-27 at the end of the third. The Bruins broke the 24-24 stalemate when Ka’imi Fairbairn drilled a 21-yard field goal to cap off an eight-play, 23-yard scoring drive. UCLA squandered an opportunity to score a touchdown, missing a chance to score from Nebraska’s four-yard line. Nebraska got even after Brett Maher kicked a 43-yard field goal to end an eight-play, 36-yard drive that tied the score at 27. UCLA’s Brett Hundley threw for 63 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 37 yards in the quarter, and the two teams are tied 24-24 at the end of the second. The Bruins made the score 14-10 after Ka’imi Fairbairn kicked a 35-yard field goal to finish off a 57-yard drive. Hundley’s three-yard touchdown pass to Joseph Fauria finished off a six-play, 57-yard drive and gave UCLA the lead, 17-14.
