Looks like the Iowa running back hex continues. Sophomore sensation Mark Weisman didn’t appear on the depth chart released today by the school. He apparently hurt his right ankle in the Hawkeyes’ 19-16 double-overtime win at Michigan State last week after running 26 times for 116 yards. True freshman Greg Garmon and Jordan Canzeri are listed 1-2 for Iowa’s game vs. Penn State at home this Saturday. Garmon has dealt with an arm injury, while Canzeri hurt a knee in spring drills.
Iowa’s Mark Weisman ran for 217 yards and three touchdowns in a losing effort for Iowa on Saturday, but several of his runs featured some amazing stiff-arm shoves. Watch three clips in this post including a powerful run up the middle where he just flattens the defender. The run in the next clip may be less of a stiff arm but Weisman still uses his upper body to stampede into the end zone.
