(AP) Shavon Shields scored 18 points and Terran Petteway had 13 of his 18 in the second half to lead Nebraska to a 68-62 upset of No. 17 Ohio State on Monday night, the Buckeyes’ fourth straight loss. The Cornhuskers (9-8, 1-5 Big Ten), who ended a five-game losing streak, survived after squandering a 14-point first-half lead. They used a 16-5 run late in the second half to regain control and off the Buckeyes (15-4, 2-4).
(AP) Aaron White scored all of his 18 points in the second half and Josh Oglesby added a season-high 17 points as 14th-ranked Iowa blew past Minnesota 94-73 on Sunday. Devyn Marble had 15 of his 16 points after halftime for the surging Hawkeyes, who moved into third place in the Big Ten behind Michigan State and Michigan.
There were four Big Ten women’s basketball games on the docket today. Indiana kicked off the action with an 83-78 victory over Minnesota, while Iowa followed with an 81-74 win over Ohio State. Currently playing: No. 16 Penn State vs. Michigan State; No. 18 Nebraska vs. No. 22 Purdue.
Saturday featured a quartet of Big Ten men’s hoops games. Northwestern kicked off the action with an upset win over Indiana at Assembly Hall. Michigan followed with an impressive road win over No. 3 Wisconsin, while Purdue edged out Penn State and Michigan State cruised to a win over Illinois. Michigan and Michigan State remain the only unbeaten teams in Big Ten play this season.
Richard Pitino notched his first signature win at Minnesota as the Gophers upset No. 11 Ohio State 63-53 on Thursday night in Minneapolis. The victory marked Minnesota’s first win against a ranked opponent this season, while Ohio State dropped its third straight game for the first time since 2009.

Ben Brust scored a game-high 19 points as Wisconsin remained perfect with an impressive 75-71 come-from-behind victory over Iowa on Sunday night. In other Big Ten action, Michigan ran past Northwestern, 74-51, while Minnesota edged Purdue, 82-79.
Illinois, No. 5 Michigan State and No. 3 Ohio State all improved to 2-0 in Big Ten play with convincing victories Saturday. The Illini took down Penn State, 75-55, the Spartans won at Indiana, 73-56, and the Buckeyes rolled past Nebraska, 84-53.
The first two Big Ten men’s basketball games of 2014 are in the books. Minnesota and Michigan battled until the Wolverines won 63-60. Jon Horford scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help Michigan withstand another loss of one of its star players and beat Minnesota 63-60 on Thursday night.
