Did You See This? Hoke says ND ‘chickening out’

Brady Hoke is a “Michigan Man,” so he knows how to excite and pump up the fan base. The latest proof came Monday in Grand Rapids, Mich., where Hoke, while speaking to a group of Michigan alumni, had some interesting words for a longtime rival. Let’s just say, Hoke isn’t a big fan of the Michigan-Notre Dame series coming to an end after 2014.

Did You See This? Limegrover’s new, leaner frame

There was a time when Minnesota offensive coordinator Matt Limegrover weighed more than 400 pounds. To be exact, he was 403 pounds in January 2012. Failed diet after diet, Limegrover opted for gastric bypass surgery last May. Fast forward one year, and the offensive coordinator tips the scales at 235 pounds. Having shed nearly 170 pounds from his frame, Limegrover looks and feels like a new person. See the before and after photos in this post.

Zach Mezger is not your typical Indiana baseball fan. The Bloomington High School North student is known as the “No. 1 IU baseball fan,” is a close friend with head coach Tracy Smith’s family, and has delivered a couple postgame speeches. Sunday, he had the honor of throwing out the first pitch in the Hoosiers’ inaugural home finale at Bart Kaufman Field.

Saturday’s catch of the day: Mueller or Edwards?

Saturday’s Big Ten softball tournament semifinals featured a pair of highlight catches. The first one came in the first game, when Wisconsin third baseman Michelle Mueller battled the sun, wind and fence down the left-field line to make the grab; the second one happened in the second game, when Nebraska catcher Taylor Edwards went to her knees to record the out near the backstop. Pictured above is Wyoming’s new football field. It’s pretty sweet, isn’t it? The illustrations of the state’s Teton Mountains in both end zones is the headliner. Wyoming’s decision to include the iconic mountains in the end zones got me thinking: What thing synonymous with Big Ten towns/cities would be cool additions to Big Ten end zones?
