Purdue head football coach Darrell Hazell announced that junior quarterback Danny Etling has asked for and been granted a release.
Darrell Hazell announced Monday that sophomore Danny Etling will be Purdue’s starting quarterback. Etling, the incumbent after starting seven games in 2013, battled fellow sophomore Austin Appleby for the starting gig in training camp.
The score isn’t pretty, but Purdue fans got a nice glimpse into the future Saturday afternoon. And that future, of course, includes quarterback Danny Etling. Watch Etling’s first career touchdown pass in this post.
