Ezekiel Elliott will turn plenty of heads at the 2016 NFL Combine. [ MORE: Get all of our Big Ten pros coverage ] Between the former Ohio State running back’s do-it-all skills, his much-talked-about midriff, and his head-turning St. Louis/Ohio State-inspired Nike custom cleats, he’s going to be tough to miss in Indianapolis. Elliott, a St. Louis native, tweeted the pictures above late Wednesday morning. Safe to say, Ohio State fans are going to love the Buckeyes-inspired design. Nebraska will wear a throwback uniform Saturday afternoon vs. Rutgers. [ MORE: Nebraska set to wear Black History Month alternate three times ] The design, created by adidas, honors one of the program’s greatest teams, the 1990-91 edition that won a school-record 26 games and was ranked for 14 consecutive weeks, and is part of the fourth annual Legends Weekend. The white jersey features red and silver lettering and piping, while the shorts feature the script Husker logo that was used during that era. No team in Nebraska annals scored more than the 1990-91 Huskers, who averaged a school-record 87.6
adidas and Nebraska unveiled a new Black History Month collection to pay tribute to Wilbur Wood, the Huskers’ first African-American basketball player, Tuesday morning. [ MORE: Get all of the latest Big Ten uniform news ] Nebraska will sport the alternate uniform, which features red tones and a cream stripe across the jersey with the classic “N” logo, vs. Penn State on Feb. 13, as well on the road at Indiana on Feb. 17 and Penn State on Feb. 25. Wood lettered from 1908 to 1910 and was one of the first black players to gain prominence in collegiate hoops.
Purdue honored its 1994-96 Big Ten championship teams Saturday afternoon vs. Nebraska. Whether you loved them or hated them, you won’t see Michigan State wear its much-talked-about neon Nike “Hyper Elite Disruption” alternate uniform again this season, according to Joe Rexrode. The Spartans debuted the design in Saturday night’s victory vs. then-No. 5 Maryland. We have seen some loud alternate uniforms in the Big Ten over the past couple of seasons. Michigan State is taking the term “loud” to a whole new meaning on Saturday. According to the Spartans’ official basketball Twitter account, @MSU_Basketball, the Spartans will be sporting new “Mean Green” Nike Hyper Elite Disruption uniforms vs. No. 5 Maryland (6:30 p.m. ET).
