Well, that was a fun 2011 Big Ten football season. The new divisions created a lot more drama and intrigue, and the inaugural Big Ten title game was a huge success. The Big Ten handed out its weekly Football Players of the Week for Week 13, and the final week of the season produced plenty of honorees. Six players were honored, including two offensive and defensive players of the week. See the winners in this post.
The Big Ten Conference announced its Week 9 Football Players of the Week on Monday morning. Four players received honors, including Northwestern tight end Drake Dunsmore, who set the school record for career receiving yards by a tight end and grabbed a school-record four touchdowns at Indiana, and Braxton Miller, who threw the game-winning touchdown pass in the final minute against Wisconsin. Ohio State will make a switch at starting quarterback this weekend, going with freshman Braxton Miller, Buckeyes head coach Luke Fickell announced Thursday. Braxton, who was rated the number one dual threat quarterback in the 2011 recruiting class by rivals.com, replaces senior Joe Bauserman.
