It was a rough Week 2 for the Big Ten. The conference went 8-5, including losses in the three biggest games: Michigan at Notre Dame, Michigan State at Oregon and Virginia Tech at Ohio State. Week 1 saw a healthy dose of highlight-reel plays throughout the Big Ten. And the fireworks came in all phases of the game – offense, defense and special teams. With several close finishes across the Big Ten in Week 8, there were plenty of huge plays. Four of the six games went down to the wire, in fact, and one of them was decided in the final seconds. Big Ten players were responsible for several terrific plays during Week 1 action. The 15th edition of the Big Ten tourney was a resounding success, drawing the highest four-day attendance in the event’s history in Indianapolis. Even better, the title game featured two of the conference’s regular-season champs and came down to the final seconds. Michigan State was the last team standing.
