The Big Ten announced a six-game prime-time schedule for BTN/BTN2Go that is highlighted by a mid-November telecast and two appearances by Nebraska and Rutgers. Rutgers is the only Big Ten team that will play host to two BTN night tilts, kicking things off with a visit from East rival Penn State on Sept. 13 in the Scarlet Knights’ first Big Ten game. Rutgers also will welcome Michigan on Oct. 4.

CHICAGO – BTN is the home for complete coverage of Big Ten spring championships in May and will televise events in the sports of baseball, softball, men’s and women’s golf, rowing, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s outdoor track and field. In all, BTN will offer more than 50 hours of coverage.
ESPN/ABC tabbed its Big Ten prime-time games, and the list of six games includes the first November night game in the history of Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes will host Illinois at 8 p.m. ET on Nov. 1. Michigan announced Monday that it will host its first Big Ten night game against Penn State on October 11. The Wolverines have played just two night games in the history of Michigan Stadium, both vs. Notre Dame, in 2011 and 2013. It’s a new thing, and Michigan is 2-0 under the lights.
The Big Ten officially released a breakdown of the 2014-15 men’s basketball matchups. This will be the first Big Ten hoops season for new members, Maryland and Rutgers. The 14 conference teams will play 18-game league games, playing five teams both home and away and eight teams once. Each team will play four of its single-play opponents at home and four on the road.
Talk about night football games continues to churn to the point where Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany is soliciting input about playing Friday night games. Hey, it’s all about the almighty TV dollar, in case you didn’t know.
