Big Ten baseball fans came from all over to watch Sunday’s conference championship matchup between top-seeded Indiana and second-seeded Nebraska. The stands were packed as 19,965 fans filled up TD Ameritrade Park, which ranks as the largest single-game conference tournament attendance in NCAA history.

Top-seeded Indiana defeated second-seeded Nebraska, 8-4, in Sunday’s Big Ten baseball championship game in front of an announced crowd of 19,965 at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, NE. The victory marked the Hoosiers’ second consecutive conference championship and fourth in school history (1996, 2009, 2013, 2014).

We saw that happen in the nightcap of the Big Ten tourney Friday night, when Iowa’s Jake Yacinich was the lead runner on a double steal attempt. Michigan, on what looked like a designed play, threw down to second and had the shortstop cut it off and toss home. The Wolverines had Yacinich dead to rights. That’s when he decided to leave his feet and dive around the tag.

In case you missed it late Wednesday night, Minnesota freshman pitcher Cody Campbell hijacked coach John Anderson’s BTN dugout interview by getting a fake tattoo drawn on his right arm in the background of the shot. In Thursday’s loss to Iowa, Campbell and his wild beard stole the show.

CHICAGO – BTN’s coverage of the Big Ten Baseball Tournament begins at 6 PM ET on Wednesday with No. 1 Indiana vs. No. 8 Iowa from TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb., home of the College World Series.
