Minnesota sends Iowa to first Big Ten loss

The No. 4 University of Minnesota Golden Gopher wrestling team bounced back from their first Big Ten loss of the season to dethrone No. 2 Iowa on Saturday afternoon in Iowa City. The Gophers were able to overtake the Hawkeyes, 19-15, by winning five bouts on the afternoon. The Gophers improve to 8-1 on the season and 5-1 in Big Ten competition. Iowa tops Nebraska for 7th straight win in series

Iowa won seven of 10 bouts to defeat Nebraska, 22-9, on Saturday at the Devaney Center. The win was Iowa’s seventh straight in the series. Thomas Gilman, Tony Ramos, and Josh Dziewa spotted Iowa a 10-0 lead with two wins and a major decision, but Nebraska kept things close with three wins in matches that featured ranked opponents. Iowa crowned three champions en route to running away with their record 23rd Midlands Championships title Monday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
