The fourth-ranked Iowa wrestling team remained undefeated on the season as the Hawkeyes opened Big Ten play with a 22-9 win over No. 5 Ohio State on Friday Night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Jump inside for an interview with Iowa’s Mike Evans.

Illinois won the team title and two Big Ten wrestlers took home individual crowns at the 50th Ken Kraft Midlands Championships at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The Illini finished with 99.5 points, two ahead of second-place Virginia Tech, while Nebraska’s Robert Kokesh (174 lbs) and Northwestern’s Jason Welch (157) won their respective weight classes.

Wisconsin held off No. 9 Nebraska, 19-17, to improve to a surprising 2-0 in Big Ten play Sunday afternoon at NU Coliseum. Meanwhile, the Huskers fell to 0-2 in conference action with the loss. The third-ranked Minnesota wrestling team rallied past No. 15 Oregon State, 21-18, Saturday night at the Sports Pavilion. The match came down to the heavyweight battle, and it was Minnesota’s Tony Nelson notching a double-overtime victory over Oregon State’s Chad Hanke. Watch our interview with Nelson now.

In a back and forth battle, the No. 9 Nebraska wrestling team took down Arizona State, 18-12, on Saturday night at the NU Coliseum. Wrestling in front of 778 fans, the Huskers improved to 5-1, while the Sun Devils fell to 5-2.

The No. 1 Gophers opened Big Ten action against the No. 9 ranked Cornhuskers and came out with a 27-7 win on Friday night.
