No. 1 Penn State claimed its fifth Big Ten wrestling championships in the last six seasons Sunday. [ MORE: View’s Championship Central ] The Nittany Lions racked up 150.5 points at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, finishing 24.5 points ahead of host and runner-up Iowa (127). Ohio State, last season’s winner and NCAA champ, finished third with 126 points. View the full final standings here. Sammy Brooks made headlines with his 184-pound Big Ten championship Sunday. But, it was his post-match interview with BTN’s Shane Sparks that made the biggest headlines. Brooks, who has a personality to match his fantastic hairdo, delivered a one-of-a-kind mullet-inspired interview after defeating Nebraska’s TJ Dudley. No. 1 Penn State claims 2016 NWCA Dual Meet Championship

No. 1 Penn State took care of No. 2 Oklahoma State, 29-18, on Sunday to win the 2016 NWCA National Dual Championship Series title in front of another sell-out crowd (6,575). The NWCA dual crown is Penn State’s third championship of the season, as it also won its sixth straight Southern Scuffle title in early January and claimed a share of the 2016 Big Ten Regular Season title with Iowa. The Nittany Lions end the regular season with a perfect 16-0 mark, including 9-0 in the Big Ten. The 16 dual meet victories are the most since Penn State won 17 in

No. 1 Penn State grabs share of Big Ten dual meet wrestling crown

No. 1 Penn State claimed a share of the 2016 Big Ten Wrestling Dual Meet Championship with a 41-3 win over Michigan State on Saturday night. The Nittany Lions (15-0, 9-0 Big Ten) earned a share of the crown with Iowa, which also finished the conference slate 9-0. The dual was wrestled in front of 6,419 fans, the 28th straight Rec Hall sell-out and the 31st of 32, including the Bryce Jordan Center. Penn State awaits word of its opponent in the 2016 NWCA Dual Meet Championship match-up. Penn State has secured a spot in the 1 vs. 1 battle

Throughout the Big Ten wrestling season, BTN’s Kara Lentz delivers the BTN Wrestling Report, an online video segment spotlighting the wrestlers from around the conference. In talking with Northwestern’s Jason Tsirtsis ahead of this weekend’s wrestling action on BTN and BTN Plus, Lentz learned that Tsirtsis is a “Star Wars” fan who can do a very good Chewbacca imitiation. Wrestling: No. 1 Penn State defeats Ohio State on BTN

Big Ten wrestling fans got to see an outstanding wrestling match Friday night at the Bryce Jordan Center on the Big Ten Network. Top-ranked Penn State defeated No. 3 and reigning national champ Ohio State, 24-14, in front of the second-largest crowd (15,983) in Penn State history. The Nittany Lions improved to 13-0, including 8-0 in the Big Ten, with the win. No. 1-ranked Nathan Tomasello opened the dual with a 3-1 win over No. 4 Nico Megaludis at 125, giving Ohio State an early advantage. Tomasello improved to 16-0 with the victory.
