Maggie Lucas scored 26 points, and Nikki Greene had 13 rebounds and hit three key second-half buckets to help No. 8 Penn State hold off Minnesota 64-59 on Thursday night. It was one of five Big Ten games.
The Penn State Lady Lions began their 2012-13 season with a 10-day foreign tour to France and Italy from August 13-23. The Lady Lions visited five cities in the two countries, while playing three games. Watch our video feature of the team and their travels.

Near the very end of the first half of Thursday night’s women’s basketball game between Michigan State and Iowa on BTN/BTN2Go, Michigan State’s Klarissa Bell took the inbound pass, turned, and, well, watch the video for yourself. She’s a few steps from crossing center court, and while the shot doesn’t have much arc, they all count if they go through the hoop. The shot went in just before the buzzer sounded to tie the game, 25-25.

Sam Ostarello had 22 points and 19 rebounds Monday night and No. 12 Purdue defeated Ohio State 82-75 in triple overtime. Courtney Moses led the Boilermakers (14-2, 3-0) with 24 points. Her layup late in the second extra period tied it at 68 after Ohio State had a 68-62 lead. All three of the Boilermakers’ Big Ten wins have come in overtime.
