Wednesday was a busy night for Big Ten volleyball. Several of the conference’s top teams were in action including top-ranked Illinois who faced Northwestern. The 18th-ranked Indiana men’s soccer team rallied from a 1-0 deficit with four unanswered goals from Eriq Zavaleta, Alec Purdie and Nikita Kotlov in a 4-1 victory at Michigan on Saturday night. No. 1 Illinois continued its winning ways on Wednesday, defeating No. 20 Michigan 3-1 (25-14, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20) at Huff Hall. The Illini out-blocked the Wolverines 17-3, led by freshman Liz McMahon with 11 block assists. The Illini are now 18-0 overall and 7-0 in the Big Ten, while the Wolverines fall to 14-5 overall and 2-5 in the Big Ten. Illinois’ Michelle Bartsch registered 20 kills.
