With the volume of competitive games slowing considerably this week, it seems like a good time to reflect on what we’ve seen in the first four weeks of the 2012-13 basketball season.

Basketball roars ahead on the BTN as we air five men’s games Saturday beginning with a noon ET tip off between No. 7 Ohio State and Long Beach State. At 2 p.m. ET, No. 17 Michigan State hosts Loyola, then Penn State hosts Army at 4 p.m.

Doug McDermott scored 27 points, Gregory Echenique had 12 points and 12 rebounds, and No. 13 Creighton pulled away in the second half for a 64-42 victory over Nebraska in the annual meeting of the state rivals Thursday night. Creighton (8-1) won in Lincoln for the first time since 2004.

At the start of each week we post a compilation of the week’s top dunks in Big Ten basketball. But since we launched our latest batch (see the video at the top of this post), we’ve seen more slams, too. We’ve added them below in this post below.

No. 19 Michigan State held Arkansas-Pine Bluff scoreless for almost 10 minutes and went on to win 76-44 on Wednesday night. Garry Harris scored 13 points, Travis Trice had 12 and Branden Dawson added 10 for the Spartans (7-2).
