The Bloomington High School North student is known as the “No. 1 IU baseball fan,” is a close friend with head coach Tracy Smith’s family, and has delivered a couple postgame speeches. Sunday, he had the honor of throwing out the first pitch in the Hoosiers’ inaugural home finale at Bart Kaufman Field.

After a 6-0 loss to Nebraska on Friday, Minnesota tied up the series with a 4-3 victory Saturday at Siebert Field. With the win, the Gophers (29-17, 12-5) return to the top of the Big Ten standings after Indiana lost, 12-1, to Northwestern. Nebraska falls to 22-26 in the season and 13-7 in the conference. Michigan State baseball beat Illinois on Sunday afternoon at McLane Stadium, 4-3, thanks to a three-run home run to left field by junior Joel Fisher. The Spartans (26-14, 9-6 Big Ten) were trailing 3-1 in the eighth before Fisher sent the seniors home with a win in the final home weekend at McLane. Illinois fell to 28-15 and 9-9 in the conference.
