Saturday’s catch of the day: Mueller or Edwards?

Saturday’s Big Ten softball tournament semifinals featured a pair of highlight catches. The first one came in the first game, when Wisconsin third baseman Michelle Mueller battled the sun, wind and fence down the left-field line to make the grab; the second one happened in the second game, when Nebraska catcher Taylor Edwards went to her knees to record the out near the backstop. Big Ten Softball Tournament: Day 3

No. 4 Wisconsin upset No. 1 Michigan, 9-3, and No. 3 Minnesota blanked No. 2 Nebraska, 1-0, in the Big Ten tournament semifinals Saturday in Lincoln. Neb. The Badgers and Gophers meet in the championship game at 1 p.m. ET Sunday on BTN/BTN2Go.

Dienhart: Frazier finally lands in Hall of Fame

Finally, Tommie Frazier is in the College Football Hall of Fame. Better late than never, right? The Nebraska quarterback’s enshrinement was long overdue, as he was one of four players from Big Ten schools who were announced as inductees into the College Football Hall of Fame by the National Football Foundation today.

BTN unveils 2013 primetime football schedule

BTN will televise 12 primetime games during the 2013 college football season, the most in network history. Five games feature a pre-season top-25 Big Ten team, while three of the 12 matchups feature games versus teams from the SEC, ACC and Pac-12 conferences. Eight Big Ten schools in all will be featured in primetime.

“Primetime games are becoming more and more popular,” said BTN President Mark Silverman. “Featuring compelling matchups in primetime allows BTN to remain front and center in Big Ten and college football fans’ minds throughout the entire day,” he said.
