We have a number of special guests in the studio for tonight’s “#BTNLive” and Big Ten football fans will want to get to know them. On tonight’s show hosted by Rick Pizzo, Glen Mason, and Howard Griffith, we talk to nine Chicago area high school football players who have committed to play for Big Ten football teams next fall.
If there is a theme to this Big Ten season, it would be “expect the unexpected.” Down is up … up is down … in is out … out is in. You get the idea. Each week is like a roller-coaster, as upsets seemingly have become the norm. Heck, we even had one last night, with last-place Illinois winning at Minnesota.

Even after a week that saw Big Ten co-leaders Michigan and Michigan State suffer Sunday home losses, the top of my latest Big Ten Power Rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal, remains the same. The biggest change is at No. 3, where Wisconsin has surpassed Iowa. See where you team lands on my latest list in this post.
The spotlight this week swings on Ann Arbor, where Michigan will play host to Michigan State in a battle between Big Ten front-runners this weekend. Each squad is 10-3 in league action. Wisconsin and Iowa are right behind the Wolverines and Spartans. And, ironically, the Badgers and Hawkeyes meet in a big game in Iowa City this week.

Indiana’s season reached a new low in Saturday’s drubbing at Purdue. The Boilermakers busted the game open after intermission, and the one thing that had been a relative constant for the Hoosiers–a solid defense–went by the wayside. To be fair, some of this was just Purdue having a fantastic afternoon from the perimeter (10-for-18 on threes), but Indiana didn’t offer much resistance either.
