Dienhart: Look out for these lurking Badgers

We may be witnessing Bo Ryan’s best coaching job in 12 seasons at Wisconsin. And that’s saying a lot. Ryan, 65, has taken what Dick Bennett started—and elevated it to another level. Ryan’s teams never have finished lower than fourth in the Big Ten and have made the NCAA tourney each season and advanced as far as the Elite Eight in 2004-05. He also has two Big Ten regular-season titles and a .711 Big Ten winning percentage that is the best in league history. Clothes Call: Adidas introduces short sleeve hoops jersey

Adidas, the official outfitter of the NBA, has teamed with the Golden State Warriors on a new uniform that includes a short-sleeve jersey. Yes, you read that correctly. It may look more like a volleyball jersey, but adidas calls it the “adizero NBA short sleeve uniform system,” and it believes it is the next phase in the evolution of basketball apparel. [ USATODAY.com: Adidas unveils short sleeve jersey for Warriors ] Why is this relevant to the Big Ten, you’re probably asking? Adidas outfits Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska and Wisconsin, and the latter three schools have shown their willingness to showcase the

Power Rankings: Hot again, Illinois moves on up

It’s amazing what a week can do. Just ask Illinois. Fresh off a week in which the Illini upset No. 1 Indiana and tripped up No. 18 Minnesota, John Groce’s team, for all intents and purposes, saved its season. Where does Illinois land on my latest Power Rankings? Find out in this post. Oh, and feel free to send me your thoughts, either in the comment box at the bottom of the post or on Twitter (@BTNBrentYarina). Big Ten Geeks: Foul!

Wisconsin picked up an overtime win over Michigan in a contest with plenty of late-game drama. Wisconsin and Michigan both found themselves with plenty of fouls to give at the end of regulation on Saturday, but neither team opted to hack to deprive the opponent of a desperation heave. While I believe Wisconsin committed error when it opted not to foul Michigan before Tim Hardaway Jr. knocked down a three-pointer to break a tie with just a few ticks left, I don’ think Michigan did anything wrong by forcing Ben Brust to make a contested 40-foot runner at the buzzer.

Twitter: Turner, Brust discuss big shots vs. Michigan

Right when Ben Brust’s buzzer-beater fell Saturday afternoon, it brought back memories of Evan Turner’s game-winner in the 2010 Big Ten tourney. Honestly, the two shots are that similar. Not just from the standpoint they both came against Michigan, either. Both also followed clutch shots by the Wolverines and were released from close to the same spot on the floor. The biggest difference between the two shots is that Turner went with more of a jump shot, off two feet, while  Brust made a runner off one foot. Another difference: Turner’s shot won the game, compared to Brust’s which sent

Badgers celebrate to Ke$ha's 'Die Young' in locker room

Make it 11 consecutive victories for Wisconsin over Michigan at the Kohl Center. It’s safe to say, Saturday’s triumph is the best of the bunch. Not only did the contest go to overtime, thanks to Ben Brust’s ridiculous buzzer-beater in regulation, it ended in an upset of the third-ranked Wolverines. Naturally, a win of this caliber calls for a crazy celebration. The Badgers did their share of celebrating following the final buzzer (see photos here), but the fun also continued in the locker room. And, lucky for us, there’s footage of it. Wisconsin posted the video below on its YouTube

Did You See This? Berggren, Brust deliver highlights

Jared Berggren is compiling quite the highlight reel in his senior season. There was this second jam in a back-to-back sequence, this posterization of Victor Oladipo, and this drive and finish at Iowa, among several others. To little surprise, Berggren struck again in Saturday’s overtime win over No. 3 Michigan. Watch the And-1 dunk now and see Ben Brust‘s ridiculous OT-forcing 3-pointer at the buzzer in this post. Wisconsin upsets No. 3 Michigan in overtime

Ben Brust hit a shot from just inside midcourt to tie the game at the end of regulation and added a tie-breaking 3 with less than 40 seconds left in overtime as Wisconsin beat No. 3 Michigan 65-62 on Saturday. [ RELATED: Watch the Badgers celebrate in the locker room ] Brust scored 14 points for the Badgers (17-7, 8-3 Big Ten), while Jared Berggren added 13. Trey Burke scored 19 points for Michigan (21-3, 8-3), and Tim Hardaway Jr. added 18. [ BOX | AP RECAP | SCORES | ALL PHOTOS | CONNECT | RAPID RECAPS | B1G DUNKS
