The Big Ten women’s basketball coaches held a teleconference with reporters from around the league as they prepare to head to Chicago for the 2013 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament. Annalise Pickrel scored 18 points and Jasmine Thomas and Klarissa Bell scored 17 apiece to lead Michigan State to a 68-61 victory over No. 25 Purdue Thursday night. Sam Ostarello had 14 points and 10 rebounds Thursday night to lead No. 14 Purdue to a 59-42 win over Indiana. KK Houser and April Wilson scored 12 points apiece for the Boilermakers (18-3, 7-1 Big Ten). Taylor Manuel added 11 points for Purdue, which held a 45-30 rebounding edge. It was one of six games in the Big Ten on Thursday and several of them ended in upsets.

Maggie Lucas scored 26 points, and Nikki Greene had 13 rebounds and hit three key second-half buckets to help No. 8 Penn State hold off Minnesota 64-59 on Thursday night. It was one of five Big Ten games.
Sam Ostarello had 22 points and 19 rebounds Monday night and No. 12 Purdue defeated Ohio State 82-75 in triple overtime. Courtney Moses led the Boilermakers (14-2, 3-0) with 24 points. Her layup late in the second extra period tied it at 68 after Ohio State had a 68-62 lead. All three of the Boilermakers’ Big Ten wins have come in overtime.
