Big Ten women’s hoops is in full swing today as eight teams are in action. No. 13 Penn State kicked off today’s slate with a 71-52 home loss to No. 1 Connecticut. BTN releases 2013-14 women's hoops slate, talent roster

CHICAGO – BTN will air an exciting lineup of women’s basketball matchups for the 2013-14 season, including 43 conference, six non-conference and 10 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament games. With six Big Ten teams selected to the 2013 NCAA Championship, the Big Ten expects to enter this season with several ranked teams. The season will tip off at noon ET on Nov. 17, with defending Big Ten Champion Penn State hosting eight-time NCAA Champion Connecticut. Also included in the schedule are three games from the Big Ten/ACC Women’s Basketball Challenge, beginning with Penn State hosting Notre Dame, a Final Four

Four Big Ten women’s basketball teams hit the floor tonight in the 2013 NCAA Women’s Baseketball Tournament as Iowa, Michigan, Penn State and Purdue look to advance. Nebraska is still in contention after beating Texas A&M on Monday night. Jordan Hooper Hooper scored 21 points and Lindsey Moore had 20 points and a season-high 10 assists to lead Nebraska to a 74-63 win over Texas A&M on Monday night in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Purdue tops MSU, claims 9th Big Ten tourney title

Drey Mingo scored 24 points, and Purdue won its second straight Big Ten tournament championship, beating Michigan State 62-47 on Sunday. The Boilermakers (24-8) led by as much as 23 in the first half and were up 19 at the break before things got tense down the stretch. The Spartans (24-8) pulled within nine, but back-to-back 3-pointers by Courtney Moses and a key turnover helped preserve the win for Purdue, giving the Boilermakers a league-best nine tournament titles. Mingo set the tone in the first half, scoring 14 points, and finished with eight rebounds and three blocks in the game.

Purdue tops Nebraska, moves onto B1G title game

Sam Ostarello scored 18 points, Courtney Moses had 16 and Purdue beat No. 21 Nebraska 77-64 on Saturday to advance to the Big Ten tournament championship. KK Houser added 13 points, eight rebounds, six steals and five assists for the Boilermakers (23-8), who also beat Nebraska 69-66 in overtime on Jan. 5. Purdue will face fourth-seeded Michigan State, which upset top-seeded Penn State, in Sunday’s title game. KK Houser scored 15 points and Purdue defeated Wisconsin 74-62 on Friday in the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals. Drey Mingo added 13 points and Sam Ostarello had nine points and 11 rebounds for the third-seeded Boilermakers (22-8), who will play No. 21 Nebraska in Saturday’s first semifinal.
