Best of Week 9: It's Michigan vs. Michigan State week!

Welcome to Week 9, which has a couple of hefty matchups with Michigan at Michigan State and Nebraska at Wisconsin. And, Northwestern’s trip to Ohio State could be compelling, too. This could be a season-defining Saturday, which features six games. Two schools are off: Iowa and Rutgers. Here is a look at the Best of Week 9. Game of the week: It doesn’t get much better than Michigan-Michigan State. If the Spartans want to repeat as East champs, they need to dispatch hated rival (and fast-rising) Michigan when the Wolverines visit East Lansing. The Spartans are 7-1 in the last

Best of Week 8: Ohio State at Penn State highlights full slate

Week 8 features all 14 teams in action in seven games. All eyes will be on two games, one from each division that will go a long way in shaping the races: Ohio State at Penn State and Wisconsin at Iowa. Iowa is 3-5 in its last eight vs. Wisconsin but won last year in Madison to end a three-game slide vs. the Badgers. This will be a key clash to determine pecking order in the Big Ten West, which looks open. When Ohio State comes to Penn State, it will be the Nittany Lions’ annual White Out game. The

BTN LiveBIG: Purdue Space Day aims to inspire astronauts of tomorrow

Every fall, hundreds of elementary and middle school students flock to West Lafayette, Ind., for a fun-filled day of launching water rockets, experimenting with mini Mars rovers and learning about what lies beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Purdue Space Day (PSD) originated in November 1996. At that event, Boilermaker alumnus astronauts Greg Harbaugh and Don Williams spoke to the approximately 150 students in attendance in an effort to spread their love for space exploration to the next generation. Twenty years later, the goal is the same, but the event has lifted off to another level. Last year more than 250 student volunteers

Big Ten schedule breakdown: Who Big Ten West teams miss

Best of Week 5: First week of 7 Big Ten matchups in 2016

Week 5 brings us the first full-blow Saturday of all Big Ten games, as all 14 teams are in action headlined by a big intra-division tilt with Wisconsin at Michigan. Nebraska will have revenge on its mind when Illinois comes to town. Last year in Champaign, the Huskers suffered an epic meltdown in a 14-13 loss. The Fighting Illini moved 72 yards in 41 seconds, scoring with 10 seconds to play on a 1-yard TD grab by Geronimo Allison. Illinois trailed 13-0 before scoring with 13:21 to play. Nebraska squandered chances, the last when it elected to throw on third
