Fresh off its second consecutive memorable Big Ten tourney title, Michigan has entered the top 10 of the latest AP poll, released Monday. The seventh-ranked Wolverines, in fact, moved up eight spots after beating Iowa, Nebraska, Michigan State and Purdue en route to the Big Ten tourney title.
It was a phenomenal experience being in New York City for the Big Ten Tournament, with five days of thrilling games that culminated in a Michigan title at Madison Square Garden. Here are the best moments I encountered during the week in New York City.
Purdue beat Michigan two times this season. No way were the Wolverines going to let the Boilermakers best them a third time. The Wolverines won the matchup with the most riding on it Sunday, though, taking the Big Ten tourney final, 75-66, to claim the program's second consecutive event crown.
No. 3 Purdue is headed to the Big Ten tourney title game to play No. 5 Michigan after a 78-70 win vs. No. 7 Penn State on Saturday night.

In partnership with NYC Parks, BTN yesterday opened the new-look Triborough Bridge Playground B after its first significant renovation in over 20 years, complete with a custom court design by Brooklyn-based artist Mark Paul Deren (MADSTEEZ). The art, representing colors from all 14 Big Ten universities and incorporating Deren’s signature “M,” was painted on freshly laid asphalt to accompany the two new basketball hoops installed. With the Big Ten regular season in the rear-view mirror, it’s time to hand out some awards. It was a season dominated by three schools: Michigan State, Purdue and Ohio State. And those three schools dominate my postseason awards.
