It was another exciting week of Big Ten action, as Nebraska took down Northwestern, Michigan State rolled Indiana, Ohio State drilled Rutgers, Maryland dropped Iowa and Minnesota held off Purdue. The results not only keep the Big Ten alive in the playoff picture (Michigan State, Nebraska and Ohio State), but they should yield another ranked team (Minnesota – 6-1, 3-0) when the latest polls come out Sunday. Purdue looks like a new football team. Not just from last year’s forgettable 1-11 campaign, but from September. Two weeks ago, the Boilermakers tallied their first Big Ten win under Darrell Hazell; last week, they scored 31 points in a close defeat to reigning Big Ten and Rose Bowl champ Michigan State; Saturday, they put up 31 points in the first half at Minnesota.
