In Columbus, Nebraska swept a doubleheader from Ohio State to card its first conference road series win since taking 2-of-3 from Baylor in Waco, Texas, in 2008. Big Ten spring football games weren’t the only events affected by the inclement weather across Big Ten country Saturday. A fair share of baseball and softball games were postponed, as well. When you hear “Dream Team,” you think Magic, Bird and Jordan, and rightfully so. But there’s a current Dream Team in the Big Ten. The seniors on the Purdue baseball team gave themselves the nickname, and they break their huddles with the phrase. All this from a team that is trying to win its first Big Ten title since 1909. It was another busy Sunday of action on Big Ten baseball diamonds. Perhaps the most exciting of the six games, Michigan State outlasted archrival Michigan, 10-8, in a 13-inning marathon. Illinois, Ohio State and Purdue also were victorious, as was Penn State, which went out of conference and nipped Canisius. Purdue’s win over Northwestern gave it a two-game cushion atop the Big Ten standings. April 7 Big Ten Baseball Roundup

Michigan scored a pair of runs in both the fifth and sixth innings and Trent Szkutnik and Alex Lakatos allowed two earned runs in a 4-3 victory over Michigan State on Saturday at McLane Stadium.
