The Big Ten announced its 2013 women’s soccer preseason coaches’ poll and players to watch list on Wednesday, with defending champion Penn State earning top honors. The Nittany Lions enter the season as the favorites after winning their 15th straight Big Ten title, the most consecutive titles by a Big Ten women’s program in any sport. The Penn State women’s soccer (21-3-2) team will be appearing in its first ever NCAA National Championship game after senior midfielder Christine Nairn tapped in the game-winner just 1:12 into overtime Friday to give Penn State a 2-1 win over Florida State. BTN to air fall championships live for first time

For the first time, BTN will provide full coverage of the Big Ten fall championships and tournaments, including live broadcasts during the 2012 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament, Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Soccer Tournaments and delayed coverage of the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships.
