Two former Penn State women’s volleyball stars and one former Nebraska star were named to the U.S. Women’s Volleyball Team for the upcoming Olympics. Former Nebraska Husker Jordan Larson was named as were Penn State’s Christa Harmotto and Megan Hodge.

(BigTen,org) The Big Ten will be well-represented at the 2011 NCAA Volleyball Championship, as eight conference teams have been selected to the tournament’s field of 64 for the second consecutive season. The Michigan State volleyball team (18-7, 7-6 Big Ten) swept past Iowa (11-15, 1-12 Big Ten), 3-0, on Friday, Nov. 4 in Iowa City, Iowa, to open the first of four straight road contests. For MSU, seniors Jenilee Rathje and Kyndra Abron, and sophomore Alexis Mathewseach tallied double-digit kill numbers against the Hawkeyes. Watch the highlights of that game now. The weekend saw several of the conference’s soccer, field hockey and volleyball teams in action. The No. 4 Nebraska volleyball team (17-1, 10-0) made history Saturday night, overcoming No. 1 Illinois in a 3-1 (24-26, 25-18, 25-19, 25-11) victory.
