So, there was some serious coaching moves Tuesday. Not only did former Wisconsin and Arkansas assistant Chris Ash join Ohio State as co-defensive coordinator, longtime Penn State defensive line coach and ace recruiter Larry Johnson also joined Urban Meyer’s staff. FightOnState.com’s Mark Brennan joined Tuesday’s #BTNLive to talk about Johnson’s decision, among other things.
One of these days, new Penn State football coach James Franklin will get to relax and catch up on some sleep. Not yet, though, as Franklin has engagement after engagement on campus and plenty of people to meet. On Monday night, the former Vanderbilt coach took in the hockey game vs. No. 1 Minnesota. In case any doubters remained—Iowa is for real, as proven by its 10-point win in Columbus. Granted, this was probably more like a six- or eight-point win if Ohio State isn’t fouling desperately at the end. But that’s splitting hairs, especially because most teams in that position do the same thing.
