For years, I have listened to my fellow pundits around the country make comments and predictions about Big Ten basketball. Whether it be that they felt it was a “down year,” or if the style of play just doesn’t provide a favorable matchup for Big Ten teams, I always got the feeling that they never took a good enough look at what makes Big Ten basketball elite.
And as November flies by, so too do our weekly installments of the Big Ten Animated GIF Tuesday posts. It seems like only – let’s see, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 – nine weeks ago that we kicked this all off. And to think they said it wouldn’t last.* (* Nobody really said that.) There are three weeks left in the season, and both Big Ten division races remain up for grabs. But know this: Iowa is in firm control in the West. In the East, Ohio State is in the driver’s seat. Both are unbeaten, the last perfect teams in the Big Ten.

ET, features live look-ins at all 14 Big Ten women’s volleyball teams playing in seven conference matches throughout the evening. With news that Illinois has fired athletic director Mike Thomas, the Big Ten now has two schools being led by interim ADs. [ MORE: Illinois fires director of athletics Mike Thomas ] Minnesota is being spearheaded by interim A.D. Beth Goetz after Norwood Teague was let go in August. Paul Kowalczyk is filling in for Thomas at Illinois. And both schools also have interim football coaches in Tracy Claeys at Minnesota and Bill Cubit at Illinois. Five Big Ten women’s soccer teams will compete in the 2015 NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship, it was announced on Monday. Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers all earned berths to the national tournament, which begins on Friday.
