PSU loses LB Nyeem Wartman-White to season-ending injury

Penn State junior linebacker Nyeem Wartman-White will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a season-ending injury in Saturday afternoon’s loss at Temple. [ MORE: Catch up on all of Week 1 Big Ten action ] Playing in his hometown, the Philadelphia native had two tackles prior to getting hurt in the second quarter. In a team release, James Franklin asked that the public support and respect Wartman-White and his family’s privacy. Wartman-White was coming off a season in which he was Penn State’s second-leading tackler (75), trailing only All-American Mike Hull.

Volleyball: Top-ranked Penn State tops No. 2 Stanford in straight sets

The No. 1-ranked Penn State volleyball team picked up a huge non-conference win on Saturday night, downing No. 2 Stanford in straight sets (25-21, 25-22, 25-18). The Nittany Lions hit .327 (51 kills – 14 errors) behind a balanced attack, while Stanford hit .267. Haleigh Washington, Aiyana Whitney, Ali Frantti and Megan Courtney all recorded over 10 kills for Penn State in the victory. The Nittany Lions improve to 5-0 on the season with the impressive win.
