Everyone in life—yes, even college basketball coaches–is always looking for a better situation. Why should college basketball players be any different? Maybe coaches need to do a better job of selling kids on remaining in their program.
Six Big Ten softball teams made the NCAA tournament, it was announced late Sunday night.
They didn’t play in the regular season, but Michigan and Minnesota were the Big Ten’s two top teams.
Saturday night, in the Big Ten tourney final, it was No. 2 seed Minnesota topping No. 1 seed Michigan, 4-3, in a 10-inning marathon.
The semifinals of the 2016 Big Ten Softball Tournament are set.
It will be the top four seeds Saturday, as No. 2 Minnesota will face No. 3 Northwestern and No. 1 Michigan will take on No. 4 and host Penn State with a berth in Saturday night’s tourney final on the line.

Change is the theme as James Franklin begins this third season at the helm of Penn State. The staff has been altered radically. Franklin fired offensive coordinator John Donovan and shockingly saw defensive coordinator Bob Shoop leave for Tennessee. And offensive line coach Herb Hand also high-tailed it, bolting for Auburn. Plus, a raft of players transferred after a season that ended with four losses in a row.
