Football season is drawing nearer, and that means it's time for BTN.com's annual Big Ten football uniform poll. This year's No. 1? It's Michigan, one year after rival Ohio State staked claim to the top spot.

Big Ten announces distinguished scholar award recipients

The Big Ten Conference announced on Wednesday that 781 students competing in intercollegiate athletics have earned the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award. The list includes students from every institution and 38 different sports who have recorded a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.7 or higher for the previous academic year. Our friends over at Collegespun.com recently released an article of the 10 best Ohio State cakes on Pinterest. There are a number of creative cakes featured in the post, ranging from birthdays to weddings  to baby showers. Big Ten basketball leads nation in attendance in 2014-15

It is no secret, Big Ten fans love their basketball. Here’s the latest proof: The Big Ten Conference led the nation in attendance (3,195,137) during the 2014-15 season, according to data released Monday by the NCAA. For some perspective, the total is the second-highest number in history, trailing the 16-team Big East Conference’s 3,259,992 in 2006-07. Former UConn guard Terrence Samuel transfers to Penn State

Former Connecticut guard Terrence Samuel has signed with Penn State, Patrick Chambers announced Wednesday afternoon. Samuel played two seasons for the Huskies, including the 2014 national championship team, and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2015-16 campaign, per NCAA transfer rules.
