Former Ohio State guard Shannon Scott helped lead the San Antonio Spurs to the Las Vegas Summer League championship on Monday. [ MORE: Get all of our coverage of Big Ten professionals ] Scott went for two points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals in the Spurs’ 93-90 victory over the Phoenix Suns. In seven games in Las Vegas with San Antonio, Scott averaged 5.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.1 steals. The Big Ten announced Thursday that Dave Revsine will serve as master of ceremonies for the 2015 Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon presented by Allstate and BMW, which will be held Friday, July 31, in Chicago.
The team announced Thursday morning that they are removing players' surnames from their jerseys to pay homage to the history of the program and return to the tradition that represented Penn State for 125 years.
An ever-present symbol of Penn State University, Mount Nittany also serves as a gateway of sorts to a mountain wilderness that covers much of central Pennsylvania. The Life Lion emergency care team at PSU’s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center recently ventured into that wilderness to undertake some very unique professional development exercises. Participants in this training program responded to a variety of simulated medical emergencies in the great outdoors, ranging from hunting accidents to snake bites. According to Jeff Lubin, associate professor of emergency medicine and Life Lion division chief at Penn State Hershey, the purpose of the program was to get medical first-responders
