Big Ten football teams celebrate becoming verified on Twitter

Twitter got to verifying Friday, with just under three weeks left to kickoff, and all 14 Big Ten football teams now have the blue check. [ MORE: View our full football tour schedule ] It might sound like a small thing, but it’s kind of a big deal on the popular social media platform. If you don’t think so, just take a look at the football teams’ official accounts. Four teams already have tweeted about becoming verified as of publish time. @GopherFootball had a lot of fun with it, putting the check mark on several pictures of key 2014 plays.

When it comes to college football bowl projections, Jerry Palm is one of the best in the business. Defending NCAA Champion Penn State was chosen as the conference favorite for the 2015 volleyball season as voted on by the Big Ten coaches, it was announced on Thursday. After claiming their seventh national title last season, the Nittany Lions top the preseason poll for the 10th time in the last 11 seasons. NCAA quarterfinalist Nebraska was picked to finish second, while Illinois was tabbed third. Most days, McDonald wakes up at 6 a.m., hops on a motorcycle and rides it over patchy roads and streets to her office in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
