Big Ten Hoops Power Rankings

Illinois' D.J. Richardson

Spartans Head to Evanston

It’s time to release my latest Big Ten men’s hoops power rankings. The rankings are not meant to mimic the Big Ten standings. What fun would that be? They aren’t scientific, either. They’re simply my thoughts on where each Big Ten team stands right now and who would win on a neutral court. Agree? Disagree? Tweet @BTNBrentYarina or leave your comments below. See Brent’s rankings in this post. The latest national polls are out, as well. Where does your team land? And check out all of the Big Ten statistical leaders.

In his first interview since being fired by Penn State two months ago, Joe Paterno, the winningest coach in Division I football, told The Washington Post he’s “shocked and saddened” by the scandal that enveloped the place where he spent more than six decades. Speaking to Washington Post reporter Sally Jenkins, the 85-year-old Paterno refused to bash the school or say a bad word about the man at the center of the turmoil. Paterno said he “didn’t know which way to go” after an assistant coach came to him in 2002 saying he had seen retired defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky sexually abusing a boy.
