The event honors its namesake, a young Penn State soccer fan who died a few years ago from a blood infection. “It’s so wonderful to celebrate the life of Mack Brady,” Penn State coach Bob Warming said. The boy, whose greatest wish since he was in Kindergarten was to play goalkeeper for the Nittany Lions, was one of the most well-known fans of the soccer program at the university even as a student in elementary school. Tragically, he passed away on New Year’s Eve of 2012 due to a blood infection. Maryland tops Big Ten men's soccer preseason poll

The Big Ten Conference announced its 2014 men’s soccer preseason coaches’ poll and players to watch list on Wednesday, with Maryland claiming the top spot in its first year in the conference. The Terrapins reached the national championship game last season. Maryland concluded the 2013 campaign with a 17-4-5 record, and has advanced to the NCAA Tournament 19 times since 1994.
