Without a doubt, Braxton Miller will start for Ohio State; Taylor Martinez for Nebraska; Kain Colter for Northwestern; Devin Gardner for Michigan; Philip Nelson for Minnesota; and Nathan Scheelhaase for Illinois.

Bill O’Brien surprised many by debuting with an 8-4 record. In fact, he went 8-2 over the last 10 games after an 0-2 start. The Nittany Lions still are dealing with severe scholarship sanctions because of NCAA probation, which will threaten to compromise the team’s thin depth. Still, the front-line talent is top-notch; and if it stays healthy, this could be another successful season in State College.

The BTN Big 10K and 5K run/walk was held this past Saturday in Chicago with a post-race FanFest & Tailgate party taking place in front of the Adler Planetarium. Rick Pizzo, Mike Hall and Lisa Byington hosted a one-hour special full of interviews, fun with former Big Ten athletes and more. The 2013 BTN B1G 10K was held Saturday morning in Chicago. It was the second annual running, and a record 11,415 runners finished. See some of the best photos from the event in this post. There were a couple surprise visitors at the event, too, as Testudo, Maryland’s mascot, and Scarlet Knight, Rutgers’ mascot, were in town for the fun. Both schools join the Big Ten in 2014.
The Big Ten held the 42nd Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon on Thursday at the Hilton Chicago. BTN’s Dave Revsine served as the event’s emcee, interviewing all the conference’s coaches, and Penn State offensive lineman John Urschel delivered a speech on behalf of the 36 players in attendance.
