BTN will televise seven winter Big Ten Championships, including wrestling, men’s and women’s swimming & diving, men’s and women’s indoor track & field and men’s and women’s gymnastics and the entire Big Ten Hockey Tournament in 2016. Coverage begins with the Big Ten Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships from Michigan on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. ET, while the Big Ten Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships will air at 7 p.m. ET on Monday, Feb. 29, from Purdue. The opening night relays and preliminary rounds for both women (Feb. 17-20) and men (Feb. 24-27) can be viewed live on BTN

Big Ten wrestling fans got to see an outstanding wrestling match Friday night at the Bryce Jordan Center on the Big Ten Network. Top-ranked Penn State defeated No. 3 and reigning national champ Ohio State, 24-14, in front of the second-largest crowd (15,983) in Penn State history. The Nittany Lions improved to 13-0, including 8-0 in the Big Ten, with the win. No. 1-ranked Nathan Tomasello opened the dual with a 3-1 win over No. 4 Nico Megaludis at 125, giving Ohio State an early advantage. Tomasello improved to 16-0 with the victory. When the Big Ten wrestling schedule came out, this was the match he circled on the calendars as Penn Satte expects 16,000 fans to come see No. 1 Penn State hosts reigning national champion Ohio State. It airs live on BTN at 6 p.m. ET.

This past weekend I was reminded that anything can happen on the wrestling mat. Everybody is beatable. Every single match has its own set of circumstances in comparison to the one before it. As I have noted before, winning a single match at this level is difficult.
