Big Ten Hoops Power Rankings

It’s time to release my latest Big Ten men’s hoops power rankings. The rankings are not meant to mimic the Big Ten standings. What fun would that be? They aren’t scientific, either. They’re simply my thoughts on where each Big Ten team stands right now and who would win on a neutral court. Agree? Disagree? Tweet @BTNBrentYarina or leave your comments below. Watch Gus Johnson call Ben Brust’s sixth 3-pointer from Saturday’s win over UNLV now and see the rankings in this post. 1. Ohio State (8-1) – The Buckeyes just suffered their first loss of the season, but remember

Indiana Celebration

Indiana ranked for first time since 2008

The Hoosiers are 9-0 and visit instate foe Notre Dame on Saturday. Ohio State remained No. 2 despite its loss at Kansas, while Michigan State also debuted in the polls. See the latest rankings. Hoosiers are ranked #18th in the country….it feels

Big Ten Geeks: Is Indiana Back?

No doubt that after the Hoosiers’ dramatic win over top-ranked Kentucky that the talk centers on whether Tom Crean’s rebuilding job of the once-proud program is complete. There are certainly a lot of reasons to think so, even aside from the whole just-beat-the-best-team-in-the-country thing. For one, let’s take a look at the talent on the roster. The core of this team comprises Christian Watford (a one-time top 50 recruit), Victor Oladipo (one of the best freshmen in all of college basketball last season), and McDonald’s All-American Cody Zeller. Each of these players are certainly worthy of major minutes at any

Dienhart: Top 10 Big Ten football stories of 2011 season

There was an iconic Hail Mary pass, a brand new championship game, a new school in the club, Legends and Leaders, a smashing debut by a coach, a touchdown machine named “Ball,” and a sordid off-field scandal the likes we never have seen in the history of college sports.
