Clothes Call: Hawaii to wear throwback uniforms vs. Ohio State

After an impressive Week 1 victory over Virginia Tech, Urban Meyer will make sure the Buckeyes don’t look past their Week 2 opponent — Hawaii. Well, the Buckeyes might struggle looking past the uniforms the Rainbow Warriors will be wearing when they travel to Columbus on Saturday. Hawaii Football’s official Twitter handle, @HawaiiFootball, tweeted out a photo of the throwback uniforms they will be wearing on Saturday against the Buckeyes. Best of Week 2: 'All eyes will be on East Lansing when Oregon visits'

Things are ratcheted back a few notches in Week 2, as there is a dearth of top-quality matchups. But the headliner is a doozy. [ MORE: Pick Week 2 winners | Power Rankings | Week 2 previews ] The primetime clash between No. 5 Michigan State and No. 7 Oregon is the first game between top 10 teams at Spartan Stadium since 1966, when MSU and Notre Dame met as the No. 2- and No. 1-ranked teams in a classic 10-10 tie. The Spartans are looking for national respect—and payback for last year’s loss in Eugene. Don’t overlook Minnesota’s junket to

Darron Lee responds to Bielema's criticism of Buckeyes' schedule

Former Wisconsin and current Arkansas head football coach Brett Bielema was in the headlines yesterday after he took a shot at Ohio State during the SEC’s weekly teleconference. When asked for his reaction to the SEC having 10 teams ranked in the latest AP Top 25 poll, Bielema responded by saying: “It’s wonderful. I love it. I say that with a smile, as it’s a major statement to the nation. Ohio State has one game on the schedule against a ranked team, we have eight left on the schedule. To get through this conference, it’s unprecedented. Any argument (against the

Big Ten writers: What was the biggest surprise in Week 1?

Before we flip the script and focus on this coming Saturday, I wanted to take one last peek back at the opening week of the season. So, I asked some of the leading writers who cover the Big Ten: What was the biggest surprise in the first week of action? Kevin Noon, Northwestern defeating Stanford. I have always liked Pat Fitzgerald and what he has done with the Wildcats program, but I really did not see QB Clayton Thorson stepping in and playing as well as he did in Week 1 against a Power Five team. I would not

Five BTN football game facts heading into Big Ten's Week 2

It surely was an intriguing first week of the Big Ten football season. With games spread out over five days for the first time in conference history, one of the highlights of the week was Northwestern’s stunning upset of No. 21 Stanford, which gave the Wildcats their first victory over a ranked team in a season-opener for first time since 1995. On the opposite side of the coin, six teams came up short in the first game of the year, including Nebraska. The Huskers dropped their first season-opener in 30 years. Week 2 Big Ten Previews: Michigan State eyes revenge vs. Oregon

The Big Ten would like to forget about Week 1, which saw the league go 8-6, including 2-4 vs. "Power Five" schools. At least Ohio State closed things on a positive note with a convincing win at Virginia Tech.
