Big Ten fans were treated to one of the best finishes of the season in Wednesday night’s Minnesota vs. Ohio State women’s basketball game. With the game tied, 76-76, and 15 seconds remaining in the game, Minnesota’s Rachel Banham missed a shot, but Jessie Edwards got the rebound and the putback to give Minnesota the lead as time expired. Jae’Sean Tate, a sophomore forward for the Ohio State men’s basketball team, will have season-ending surgery on his left shoulder Friday, Thad Matta, head coach of the Buckeyes, announced Tuesday. The surgery will be performed at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. Tate had been recently battling the injury. He is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of practice in the Fall of 2016. Tate, a native of nearby Pickerington, Ohio, played in 28 games this year, averaging 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds. He started all 28 games for the 18-10 Buckeyes. The last
Fourth graders at Scottish Corners Elementary School in Dublin, Ohio, received an interesting lesson about law and courts Monday. The hypothetical case presented to the children involved, of all people, Ohio State’s Urban Meyer and Braxton Miller and Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh. Even weirder: Miller and Harbaugh are “friends” in the hypothetical case, and the former is conspiring to help the rival Wolverines steal Ohio State’s plays.
