The ninth-ranked Indiana men’s soccer team sent seniors Nick Blevins, Chris Estridge, Tyler McCarroll, Tommy Meyer and Alec Purdie out in style with a 1-0 victory over Ohio State (10-6-1, 4-2 B1G) Saturday afternoon on Jerry Yeagley Field at Armstrong Stadium. Senior keeper Jeremy Clark tallied his fourth shutout of the year and red-shirt freshman Ryan Keener headed in the game’s only goal as Michigan State (6-7-4, 2-2-2) took back the Big Bear Trophy with a 1-0 victory over rival Michigan. CHICAGO – BTN will once again provide coverage of five Big Ten fall championships, including live broadcasts during the 2011 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament, Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Soccer Tournaments and delayed coverage of the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships.

Ohio State’s Chris Hegngi found the back of the net 34 seconds into overtime to lift the Buckeyes past archrival Michigan, 3-2, Sunday afternoon at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The defeat was the third straight overtime loss for the Wolverines. Michigan led 2-1 late in the second half, but Ohio State drew even at the 86:04 mark before striking quickly in the extra session to claim victory in the teams’ Big Ten opener.
