BTN.com just rolled out another handful of fun Big Ten promotional contests this week, so have a look and enter any or all of them. The prizes include an all-access pass to an Indiana basketball game, lunches with Purdue’s Matt Painter and Michigan State’s Mark Hollis, Big Ten men’s basketball tournament tickets, a behind-the-bench experience at Michigan State, and a visit from one of the Big Ten’s popular mascots.
Sam Ostarello had 14 points and 10 rebounds Thursday night to lead No. 14 Purdue to a 59-42 win over Indiana. KK Houser and April Wilson scored 12 points apiece for the Boilermakers (18-3, 7-1 Big Ten). Taylor Manuel added 11 points for Purdue, which held a 45-30 rebounding edge. It was one of six games in the Big Ten on Thursday and several of them ended in upsets.
The Feb. 6 National Signing Day for football is a less than a week away, and it’s the first day recruits can ink letters of intent. It’s also the day when every fan dreams big while studying the list of players their school signed and wondering which players will be stars and which ones might be busts. But, honestly, they all look like studs on Signing Day, right?
Trey Burke had 18 points and eight assists, and No. 1 Michigan was nearly flawless at the start Wednesday night en route to a 68-46 victory over Northwestern. The Wolverines made 10 of their first 11 shots and went the entire first half without a turnover. They didn’t commit a foul, either, until the final minute of the half.

In a matchup of the Big Ten’s two best defenses, it was Ohio State that prevailed with a nine-point home victory over Wisconsin. Both of these teams rely on good old fashioned B1G defense: make you miss (without fouling), then secure the carom. Turnovers are optional.
