Mick McCall’s offense is ticking at Northwestern. The Wildcat offensive coordinator, who is in his fifth season on the job, has developed one of the more consistently potent offenses in the Big Ten under Pat Fitzgerald. Last season, the attack ranked second overall in the Big Ten (420.9).
CHICAGO – BTN will televise more volleyball this season than ever before, with at least 50 matches set to air on BTN. The season begins with defending Big Ten Champion Nebraska hosting 2011 National Champion UCLA and Stanford at Penn State in the season’s first two weeks. The games will also be available at BTN2Go.
If it’s August, it must be time for the Big Ten Football Preview Tour. For the sixth straight year, Dave Revsine, Gerry DiNardo and Howard Griffith will zigzag across Big Ten country to bring fans a 60-minute, on-site preview show from every Big Ten campus on the Big Ten Football Preview Tour, presented by Culligan. The BTN crew will travel over 3,000 miles, across the conference’s nine states, in a customized chartered bus branded with the BTN logo. All shows can also be seen on BTN2Go.

Athlon Sports recently released its Big Ten Player Rankings: The Top 50 players for 2012, and two-time reigning Big Ten champ Wisconsin highlights the top of the countdown. Five of the first 12 names are Badgers, headlined by Heisman Trophy candidate Montee Ball, at No. 1, and left tackle Ricky Wagner, at No. 6. While Wisconsin dominates the top of the list, Michigan State (9), Nebraska (8) and Ohio State (8) all boast more overall players than Wisconsin (7).
