Here is what I learned on Saturday, a day when Northwestern and Iowa continued to dream big, Illinois had its balloon burst, Nebraska had its heart broken (again) and Ohio State, Michigan State and Minnesota won ugly.

Tom’s Take: Week 3 Big Ten honors, grades, stock reports & numbers

Week 3 was all about the ACC, as the Big Ten played five games vs. the eastern league. Final score: ACC 3, Big Ten 2. Northwestern (at Duke) and Iowa (Pitt) were the only two Big Ten teams to win. Illinois (at North Carolina), Nebraska (at Miami) and Purdue (Virginia Tech) all lost.

Top 10 performers from Saturday's Big Ten football action

After subpar performances throughout Weeks 1 and 2, the Big Ten had a solid Week 3 showing. [ MORE: Get Week 3 scores, stats & AP recaps ] The conference finished 9-3 in non-conference action on Saturday, with Penn State topping Rutgers, 28-3, in the lone Big Ten game of the day. Clothes Call: Northwestern to sport new helmets vs. Duke

One week after we saw Northwestern break out some American Flag-themed helmets, it looks like the Wildcats will have a new look in Saturday’s matchup against Duke.
