Illinois, No. 5 Michigan State and No. 3 Ohio State all improved to 2-0 in Big Ten play with convincing victories Saturday. The Illini took down Penn State, 75-55, the Spartans won at Indiana, 73-56, and the Buckeyes rolled past Nebraska, 84-53.

Nebraska needed this 24-19 win over Georgia in the Gator Bowl. It doesn’t matter that this was an undermanned Bulldogs team. The Cornhuskers had to taste victory after closing the regular season with two losses in their last three games. And the season-ender vs. Iowa was ugly on many fronts.

Tommy Armstrong Jr. connected with Quincy Enunwa for two touchdowns, including a 99-yarder in the third quarter, and Nebraska held on to beat No. 23 Georgia 24-19 in the rain-soaked Gator Bowl on Wednesday.
