CHICAGO – BTN will offer its most extensive baseball and softball coverage ever, with over 240 events airing on BTN, BTN2Go and the Big Ten Digital Network (BTDN) for the 2014 season.
Sierra Romero hit a two-run shot for her 23rd home run of the season, Sara Driesenga threw a seven-hit shutout and eighth-seeded Michigan beat Arizona State 2-0 Sunday night in a Women’s College World Series elimination game.
The Big Ten makes up 25 percent of the 2013 Women’s College World Series field. And to get Michigan and Nebraska fans ready for the WCWS, starting Thursday afternoon, BTN/BTN2Go will re-air two games tonight from this season featuring the two Big Ten teams playing each other.
It’s official: Nebraska is headed to its first Women’s College World Series since 2002. The 14th-seeded Huskers went into Eugene, Ore., and took two of three from No. 3 seed Oregon in the Eugene Super Regional to advance to Oklahoma City. Nebraska, which won Game 1 on Saturday, lost Game 2 in 11 innings Sunday afternoon before winning the decisive Game 3. Read Huskers.com recap.
